With the support of The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust, the School of Chinese Medicine (SCM) distributed free HKBU Chinese Medicine Influenza Prevention Remedy in February 2020 to residents of elderly care homes and families receiving Comprehensive Social Security Assistance, benefitting around 2,500 people in total.
Ingredients in the HKBU Chinese Medicine Influenza Prevention Remedy include pilose asiabell root, American ginseng, honeysuckle flower, weeping forsythia capsule, chicken gizzard skin, fineleaf schizonepeta herb, mild mint herb, white mulberry root-bark, fortune eupatorium herb, Indian bread, dyer's woad root and liquorice root.
In addition, the Hong Kong Baptist University ‒ Jockey Club Chinese Medicine Disease Prevention and Health Management Centre, which falls under the Clinical Division of the SCM, launched a free online health consultation service last month, which allow the public to make general Chinese medicine health enquiries through video conferencing.
After making a telephone appointment (Tel: 3793 3428), the public can use Zoom, an online video conferencing app, to ask about general Chinese medicine health information during a 10-minute consultation period. Topics of enquiry range from health information, health protection tips to common Chinese medicine knowledge, but excluding online diagnosis, prescription or treatment direction for patients. Please visit the Centre’s website for more details (Chinese only).
