HKBU recently received generous donations from Mr. Brian Cheng, Managing Director of GreenWalls Bioengineering (HK) Limited, in support of an innovative research project conducted by the Institute of Bioresource and Agriculture (IBA), as well as the establishment of a scholarship for nurturing agricultural professionals. Mr. Cheng also donated a tonne of EAW Sanitiser which can be used to produce 50 tonnes of hand sanitser and distributed for free by the Department of Biology to NGOs, schools and elderly homes.

An agreement signing ceremony was held on 11 June 2020. It was officiated by Mr. Brian Cheng; Professor Roland T. Chin, President and Vice-Chancellor; and Professor Jonathan Wong, MH, JP, Director of the IBA and Head of Department of Biology. The ceremony was witnessed by Mr. Yeung Chee Kong, Associate Vice-President (Engagement); Professor Zhang Jianhua, Dean of Science; and Mrs. Lily Chan, Director of University Advancement and Secretary-General of the HKBU Foundation.
