Public Lectures by Professor Raymond Wong and Professor Ng Ching Fai

 Professor Raymond Wong shared his views with the audience during the Q&A session 
 Professor Ng illustrated the philosophy of liberal arts education


Professor Raymond R. Wong, SBS, Honorary Permanent President of the HKBU Foundation, and Professor Ng Ching Fai, GBS, Senior Member of the HKBU Foundation, were invited to speak at the honorary doctorate distinguished lectures held respectively on 20 and 23 November 2020. Both lectures attracted hundreds of participants including honourable guests and HKBU Foundation members.

Professor Wong, the recipient of honorary degree of Doctor of Social Sciences 2020, gave a lecture on “US Presidential Election”, sharing his views on the impact of world politics after the US election. Foundation members attending the lecture included Professor James Tsien, Professor Teresa Tsien, Professor Peter Kwan and former students of Professor Wong.

Professor Ng Ching Fai, GBS, the recipient of honorary degree of Doctor of Science 2020, delivered a lecture entitled “Nothing but the Truth”, during which he shared his views on the philosophy of liberal arts education. Foundation members attending the lecture included Dr. Cheng Yan Kee, BBS, JP; Professor Justin Chiu; Dr. Eddie Ho; Dr. Peggy Lam, GBS, OBE, JP, and Mr. Tyrone Siu. Many HKBU representatives joined both lectures. They were Dr. Clement Chen, GBS, JP, Chairman of the Council and the Court; Professor Roland T. Chin, President and Vice-Chancellor; Professor Clayton Mackenzie, Provost; Professor Guo Yike, Vice-President (Research and Development); Dr. Albert Chau, Vice-President (Teaching and Learning); Ms. Christine Chow, Vice-President (Administration) and Secretary; Professor Huang Yu, Associate Vice-President (Mainland); Professor Ricky Wong, Associate Vice-President (Teaching and Learning) cum Academic Registrar; Mr. Yeung Chee Kong, Associate Vice-President (Engagement) and Mrs. Lily Chan, Director of University Advancement and Secretary-General of the HKBU Foundation.
