AIA Scholarships reward outstanding HKBU students
AIA Group Limited recently held a launch ceremony to announce its donation pledge of US$100 million (HK$780 million) for the establishment of the AIA Scholarships, which will support 100 undergraduates in Hong Kong annually over the next few decades. Hong Kong Baptist University is one of the ten local university partners of the AIA Scholarships.
The Ceremony was attended by Mr. Edmund Tse, Board Chairman of AIA Group Limited and Director of the AIA Foundation; Mr. Lee Yuan Siong, Chief Executive of AIA Group Limited; Professor Roland T. Chin, President and Vice-Chancellor of HKBU, as well as the representatives of other universities.
The AIA Scholarships aim at recognising students who have demonstrated a track record of academic excellence and community service. Application is now open to full-time Year 1 undergraduate students who are enrolled in a UGC-funded degree programme. The awardees will receive an award of HK$50,000 each year throughout their undergraduate studies.
