Dr. Lam Kin Chung, Chairman of the Lam Kin Chung Morning Sun Charity Fund, Honorary Vice-President of the HKBU Foundation, was awarded the honorary doctoral degree by the Hanoi University on 30 July 2021, in recognition of his contributions to promoting academic cooperation between Vietnam and Hong Kong. The presentation ceremony was held at the Consulate General of Vietnam in Hong Kong. Dr. Lam is currently Chairman of Zhong Yang Group Holdings Ltd.

In addition, Dr. Lam was appointed earlier as Patron of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in appreciation of his long-standing contributions and support to arouse public awareness on refugee issues.
