HKBU receives donation from Lam Kin Chung Morning Sun Charity Fund to support exchange programmes
The University recently received a generous donation from the Lam Kin Chung Morning Sun Charity Fund, Honorary Vice-President of the HKBU Foundation. HK$150,000 is designated for the Consulate-General-in-Residence Programme (CGiR), while HK$60,000 is for the establishment of the Lam Kin Chung-Ikeda Scholarship.
Established in 2004, CGiR is one of the University’s pioneering international programmes which aims to foster campus internationalisation by inviting Consuls-General in Hong Kong to share their insights with students, staff and the general public, enabling a fruitful exchange of knowledge in world affairs between the University and the community. Over the past years, a total of 47 Consuls-General were invited to join the Programme.
The Lam Kin Chung-Ikeda Scholarship will provide six scholarships of HK$10,000 each to eligible students to support their participation in overseas exchange from the academic year 2022/23 to 2024/25 to help broaden their global horizons and enrich their cross-cultural learning experiences.
