The University recently received another generous donation of HK$500,000 from Mr. Wong Nga Chung, President of Nakagawa Electronics Ltd., with a total of HK$1 million designated for the “NC Wong Young Composers Award”.

The “NC Wong Young Composers Award” was organised by HKBU’s Department of Music biennially in the form of a composition contest, with an aim to nurture creativity for music students at HKBU. The inaugural Award is now open to application.

Mr. Wong, who is also an HKBU alumnus, has endeavoured to support his alma mater over the years. He is also an Honorary Permanent President and a Member of the Alumni Committee of the HKBU Foundation and was conferred an Honorary University Fellowship by HKBU in 2014.
