The University recently received a new donation from Mr. Billy Hung Hing Chuen in support of the Chaplain’s Office Campus Ministry. Since 2016, Mr. Hung has made donations totaling HK$1 million for this purpose.

Mr. Hung is a Member of the Board of Governors of the HKBU Foundation and the Court of HKBU. He is also Director of Shiu Pong Enterprises Limited and the representative of the Hung Hin Shiu Charitable Foundation. Mr. Hung and his family are longstanding supporters of the University, who have made tremendous contributions towards the University’s strategic development. Besides actively participating in the University’s affairs, Mr. Hung was also involved in the character development of young people. By supporting the campus ministry, he hoped it would help to foster the whole person development of HKBU students with the application of Christian faith.

Rev. Tse Hung, Chaplain of HKBU, thanked Mr. Hung for his act of benevolence, which would help the Chaplain’s Office to serve the University community in a more diverse way. He added that the Chaplain’s Office had launched a number of activities in support of the community during the epidemic, including programmes which aimed to improve the physical and mental wellness of the students and staff, and to engage students in developing initiatives to show their care for neighbours.
