Meeting with representatives of Wofoo Foundation
Dr. Joseph Lee, GBS, OStJ, JP, and Ms. Christina Lee, JP, Chairman and Director respectively of Wofoo Foundation Limited; Ms. Phoebe Wan and Ms. June Lau, Senior Project Manager and Senior Officer respectively of Wofoo Social Enterprises, met with HKBU representatives at an online meeting held on 14 July 2022, to exchange views on the preparatory work for the operation of Hong Kong’s first Chinese Medicine Hospital and initiatives that the University has undertaken to help Hong Kong fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
At the meeting, Dr. Lee said that he was delighted to see HKBU being appointed by the HKSAR Government as the operator of Hong Kong’s first Chinese Medicine Hospital. Dr. Lee and his Foundation would support HKBU in its efforts to advance the development of Chinese medicine, and they were highly confident that the University will take Chinese medicine education, research and services to new heights.
Professor Alexander Wai, JP, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Lee for his and his Foundation’s unwavering support for HKBU over the years. He said that the Chinese Medicine Hospital will play the role as the “flagship” and “change driver” of Chinese medicine and that the University will devote its best efforts to further promoting the standardisation and internationalisation of Chinese medicine. He expressed his sincere wish to work in collaboration with the Foundation to achieve these goals.
Other HKBU representatives attending the meeting included Ms. Christine Chow, Vice-President (Administration) and Secretary; Professor Bian Zhaoxiang, MH, Associate Vice-President (Chinese Medicine Development); Professor Lyu Aiping, Dean of Chinese Medicine; Dr. David Lai, Senior Consultant and Head of the Planning Office for Chinese Medicine Hospital; and Mrs. Lily Chan, Director of University Advancement and Secretary-General of the HKBU Foundation.
