HKBU Foundation members attend launching ceremony of “BU Strive Talk”

In celebration of its upcoming third anniversary, the HKBU Alumni Association of the Greater Bay Area (GBAAA) launched the talk show “BU Strive Talk”, with its Honorary Director and Vice-Chairman of the Board of Governors of the HKBU Foundation (the Foundation), Professor Justin Chiu interviewing 10 HKBU alumni in the political sector to explore Hong Kong’s role in the Greater Bay Area, as well as challenges and opportunities during the development.
GBAAA hosted a launching ceremony for the talk show on 17 August. Officiating guests included Dr. Christine Choi, JP, Secretary for Education; Dr. Samuel Yung, SBS, MH, JP, Chairman of the Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority; Professor Alexander Wai, JP, President and Vice-Chancellor of HKBU; Dr. Vincent Ho, Founding President of GBAAA and Member of the Alumni Committee of the Foundation; and Professor Justin Chiu. Dr. the Hon. Kennedy Wong, BBS, JP, Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Foundation, also joined the event virtually and shared with Dr. Choi and Professor Wai on the global trend as well as the opportunities and challenges faced by universities in the Greater Bay Area.
The “BU Strive Talk” features 10 current and former Legislative Council members, including Professor Nelson Lam, JP, Director of Audit; The Hon. Chan Hoi Yan; Dr. the Hon. Chow Man Kong; Dr. the Hon. Hoey Simon Lee, MH, JP; The Hon. Leung Man Kwong, MH; The Hon. Ma Fung Kwok, GBS, JP; The Hon. Tang Fei, MH; The Hon. Edmund Wong; Dr. the Hon. Kennedy Wong; and The Hon. Kingsley Wong, BBS, JP. HKBU’s representatives including Professor Alice Chiu, BBS, JP, Director of the Foundation; Ms. Rosanna Choi, Treasurer of the Council and the Court of HKBU; Professor Guo Yike, Vice-President (Research and Development); Dr. Albert Chau, Vice-President (Teaching and Learning); Mrs. Lily Chan, Director of University Advancement and Secretary-General of the Foundation; and alumni including Professor Harrison Ho; Mr. Lau Pak Shing; Professor William Leung, GBS, JP; Mr. Philip Tsai, BBS, JP; Professor James Tsien; Professor Teresa Tsien; Mr. Kent Tsui; Professor Sunny Wong; Mr. Wong Nga Chung, and Professor Bernard Wu joined the launching ceremony.
