Meeting with representatives of Tsang Shiu Tim Charitable Foundation
Directors and Members of the Tsang Shiu Tim Charitable Foundation (Foundation) including Mr. Tsang Wing Wah and Mrs. Tsang, Mr. Tsang Kai Yuen, Mr. Patrick Tsang Kai Chi and Dr. Yeung Shiu Kin visited the University on 14 September 2022. They met with HKBU representatives to exchange views on the preparatory work for the operation of Hong Kong’s first Chinese Medicine Hospital and initiatives that the University has undertaken to help Hong Kong fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
Over the years, the Foundation has rendered generous support to the development of HKBU in various initiatives, including HKBU’s campus development and the establishment of the Tsang Shiu Tim Endowed Professorship in Chinese Medicine Clinical Studies. In 2021, the Foundation made a generous donation in support of the University’s Hong Kong Rehabilitation Programme for COVID-19, a programme which delivered comprehensive care to discharged patients by integrating exercise training with the use of Chinese herbal medicine.
Professor Alexander Wai, JP, President and Vice-Chancellor, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Foundation for its ardent support for HKBU over the years. He said that the University will devote its best efforts to further promoting the internationalisation of Chinese medicine and look forward to collaborating with the Foundation to achieve this aspiration.
Other HKBU representatives attending the meeting included Ms. Christine Chow, Vice-President (Administration) and Secretary; Professor Bian Zhaoxiang, MH, Associate Vice-President (Chinese Medicine Development) and Tsang Shiu Tim Endowed Professor in Chinese Medicine Clinical Studies; Professor Lyu Aiping, Dean of Chinese Medicine; Dr. David Lai, Senior Consultant and Head of the Planning Office for Chinese Medicine Hospital; and Mrs. Lily Chan, Director of University Advancement and Secretary-General of the HKBU Foundation.
