Simon Suen Foundation sponsors students’ participation in immersive art exhibition

The Simon Suen Foundation, being one of the Education Program Sponsors of the “En Voyage with Claude Monet” exhibition, subsidised around 50 year-one students from HKBU transdisciplinary programmes to attend a field trip for an immersive experience. Dr. Chloe Suen, Chair of the Simon Suen Foundation and Co-Chairman of the Young Entrepreneur Committee; together with Dr. Albert Chau, Vice-President (Teaching and Learning); Dr. Lisa Lam, Director of Centre for Innovative Service-Learning; and Mr. Kingsley Ng, Associate Professor of Academy of Visual Arts cum Programme Director of Bachelor of Arts and Science (Hons) in Arts and Technology, joined the students to visit the first-ever immersive experience of Monet in Hong Kong at the Cultural Plaza of West Kowloon Cultural District on 4 November 2022, to appreciate the artworks of the master of impressionism, Claude Monet, through a spectacular 360 degrees sound and light show. 

The field trip was followed by a sharing entitled “Behind the Scene Sharing: En Voyage with Claude Monet”, organised by the Academy of Visual Arts and supported by the Division of Transdisciplinary Undergraduate Programmes with the co-ordination of Dr. Emilie Tran, Director of Transdisciplinary Undergraduate Programmes, as well as University Advancement Office, on 18 November 2022. Dr. Chloe Suen; Ms. Eleanor Chan, Director of ChillHoYeah Limited, organiser of the exhibition; Mr. Julien-Loïc Garin, Director of Arts and Culture of ChillHoYeah Limited; Ms. Helen So, Senior Researcher Lead, Arts and Culture of Our Hong Kong Foundation, and Mr. Kingsley Ng exchanged their valuable insights on the career development and future outlook of the art tech industry. The participating students also shared their creative artworks inspired by Claude Monet’s paintings and takeaways from the immersive art exhibition.
