The University recently received another generous donation from the Li Po Chun Charitable Trust Fund, for the provision of scholarships to students who attain good academic results and research achievements. Its first donation was dated back to 1989. The Trust Fund has been a long-standing supporter of the University for more than two decades. The Trust Fund has also been recognised as the Honorary President of the HKBU Foundation.  

Currently, the University has two scholarships sponsored by the Li Po Chun Charitable Trust Fund as follows:

• Li Po Chun Charitable Trust Fund Postgraduate Scholarship
  A grant of HK$8,000 will be awarded annually to one local full-time research student who has made good progress in his/her research studies
   
• Li Po Chun Charitable Trust Fund Undergraduate Scholarships
  A grant of HK$5,000 each will be awarded annually to seven newly admitted Year 1 local students with good entrance results and first-semester results

The Li Po Chun Charitable Trust Fund was founded by the late Mr. Li Po Chun, a renowned businessman and philanthropist in Hong Kong. He dedicated his life to supporting philanthropy and education, with numerous schools and scholarships established under the names of his parents and himself, benefitting countless students. The Trust Fund continues its donations to schools and passes on the spirit of thriving education and nurturing talents.
