HKBU launches Leadership & Character Enhancement Programme

09 February 2023

Leadership and character building are indispensable parts of whole person development. Sponsored by the Tin Ka Ping Foundation, Honorary Trustee of the HKBU Foundation, the Leadership Qualities Centre at HKBU launched a bespoke programme for youth leaders, namely “Leadership & Character Enhancement Programme”, to nurture future leaders with professional knowledge and righteous values.

From October 29 to December 3, 2022, a total of 180 HKBU students and student leaders nominated by 68 secondary schools joined the Leadership & Character Enhancement Programme 2022. HKBU students served as Peer Mentors, led 15 groups of participating secondary students in experiential activities and a variety of trainings on social innovation, governance, financial management and integrity, law and leadership, thereby deepening students' understanding of various professional fields, as well as developing their skills in managing teams and organising events. After their trainings, they have applied their acquired knowledge to prepare social innovation proposals and give presentations. Each of the three winning groups was awarded HK$10,000 as seed funding to implement their projects in making positive impact on society.
