HKBU receives donation from Moonchu Foundation in support of Future Cinema Systems
HKBU received a generous donation of HK$350,000 from the Moonchu Foundation, designated for the development of Future Cinema Systems, a pioneering and farsighted art-tech project that has been awarded funding from the Innovation and Technology Support Programme under the Innovation and Technology Commission of the HKSAR Government earlier on.
The two-year art-tech project “Future Cinema Systems: Next-Generation Art Technologies” is led by Professor Jeffrey Shaw, Chair Professor of the Academy of Visual Arts at HKBU in collaboration with the City University of Hong Kong and the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne in Switzerland. The project will develop an integrated system for artists and the creative industries to meet the growing demand for new interactive immersive forms of cultural experience, as well as entertainment and education.
The Moonchu Foundation is established by the two brothers, Mr. Johnson Chang Tsong Zung, Mr. Zhang Songyi and his wife, Ms. Tammy Mui Bing How.
