A delegation from the Yantai Overseas Friendship Association paid a visit to the University on 18 April 2023. Guests included Mr. Wang Jun, Executive Deputy Head of the United Front Work Department of Yantai Municipal Committee; Mr. Shi Yunsheng and Mr. Zheng Haoran, Director and Deputy Director respectively of the Office of Yantai Overseas Friendship Association; Mr. Gai Xiangyu, Chairman of the Hong Kong Yantai Association; and Mr. Philip Kan, MH, Member of the Alumni Committee of the HKBU Foundation.

The delegation was warmly received by Professor Lyu Aiping, Dean of Chinese Medicine; Mrs. Lily Chan, Director of University Advancement and Secretary-General of the HKBU Foundation; and Dr. Liu Jing, Coordinator of the Dr. & Mrs. Hung Hin Shiu Museum of Chinese Medicine. During the visit, the delegation and HKBU representatives exchanged views on the development of traditional Chinese medicine and explored the feasibility of future collaboration. Dr. Liu also introduced to the guests the exhibits at the Museum and the competitive edges of the School of Chinese Medicine.
