Eight HKBU Foundation members and donors of the University were appointed by the HKSAR Government as Members of the Chief Executive's Policy Unit Expert Group. These appointments took effect from 30 May 2023 for a term of one year.

Economic Advancement Expert Group

• Dr. Martin Lee Ka Shing, GBS, JP, Chairman and Managing Director of the Henderson Land Group, Honorary Permanent President of the HKBU Foundation (Lee Shau Kee Foundation Limited)
• Mr. Adam Kwok Kai Fai, SBS, Executive Director of Sun Hung Kai Properties Limited, Director of the HKBU Foundation (Sun Hung Kai Properties Charitable Fund Limited)
• Mr. Laurence Li Lu Jen, JP, Honorary Court Member of HKBU and Senior Counsel of Temple Chambers
• Dr. Haywood Cheung, Former Member of the Entrepreneur Committee of the HKBU Foundation and Permanent Honorary President of the Chinese Gold & Silver Exchange
• Dr. Samuel Yung Wing Ki, SBS, MH, JP, donor of the University and Executive District Director of AIA International Limited

• Dr. Chloe Suen Yin Wah, Co-Chairman of the Young Entrepreneur Committee of the HKBU Foundation and Chair of the Simon Suen Foundation

Research Strategy Expert Group

• Professor Ho Kin Chung, BBS, JP, Court Member of HKBU and Founding Chairman of the Polar Research Institute of Hong Kong
• Professor Priscilla Lau Pui King, BBS, JP, Honorary Vice-President of the HKBU Foundation and Former Hong Kong Delegate to the National People's Congress
