The University received a generous donation from the Bank of China (Hong Kong) Limited (BOCHK) again in the academic year 2022-23 in support of the Bank of China (Hong Kong) Scholarships, of which a grant of HK$50,000 in total was awarded to five outstanding students. In addition, BOCHK has provided continued support for the Bank of China (Hong Kong) Bursaries by making another donation of HK$50,000 to needy students.

It has been 25 years since its first donation in the academic year 1998-99 for the establishment of scholarships and bursaries, BOCHK together with BOCHK Charitable Foundation have provided financial assistance to students, with an aggregate donation amount of over HK$2 million and 485 students benefitted from its generosity. The funding support from BOCHK is a recognition to students’ outstanding performance, it also helps ease their financial burden, enabling them to focus on their pursuit of academic excellence and eventually giving back to society by utilising their knowledge.

As a leading commercial and internationalised regional bank with deep roots in Hong Kong for over 105 years, BOCHK has been a staunch supporter of the University over the years, it has donated in support of a variety of the University’s initiatives, including the establishment of Bank of China (Hong Kong) Chinese Medicines Centre and the BOC-HKBU Chinese Medicine Community Stroke Prevention and Rehabilitation Scheme.
