The University received a generous donation from Shanghai Commercial Bank again in the academic year 2022-23 for supporting the Shanghai Commercial Bank Scholarship, of which a total grant of HK$100,000 was awarded to 10 local students with outstanding academic performance, as well as active participation in extra-curricular activities and social services. Since its first donation in the academic year 2015-16, the Bank has already contributed an aggregate donation amount of HK$800,000, benefitting 80 HKBU students.

The Bank has established in Hong Kong for more than seven decades. Over the years, it has been dedicated to serving the community, actively contributing its corporate social responsibilities through the participation of charitable and voluntary activities, and by giving donations to charitable organisations and education institutions, thereby contributing to the benefit of the community.
