HKBU “United Nations SDGs eTournament (Greater China 2023)” Award Presentation Ceremony

Organised by the Centre for Holistic Teaching and Learning (CHTL) of HKBU with sponsorships from the Tin Ka Ping Foundation, Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Chu Yu Lun, and Mr. and Mrs. Lee Siu Lun, the Award Presentation Ceremony for the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) eTournament (Greater China 2023) was held on 22 August 2023 with great success. Around 50 participants attended the ceremony, including award presenters Dr. Yuen Pong Yiu, Director of the Tin Ka Ping Foundation and Consulting Principal of the Tin Ka Ping Secondary School, and Dr. Theresa Kwong, Director of CHTL, as well as teachers and students of the participating secondary schools from Mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau. 

The eTournament was held for the second consecutive year to raise students’ awareness of the United Nations SDGs and enhance their ability to work with peers on specific tasks. This year’s event attracted enthusiastic participation of 252 students from 18 secondary schools in the Greater China region, and a total of 11 awards were presented to outstanding teams and students. 

After the ceremony, the participants embarked on a two-day exchange tour, including visits to the HKBU campus, HKBU Affiliated School Wong Kam Fai Secondary and Primary School, as well as the Tin Ka Ping Foundation where they met with its Chairman Mr. Sam Tin Hing Sin. The tour gave them the opportunity to experience the humanistic ambience and advanced facilities of HKBU, as well as make friends with people from different cultural backgrounds.
