HKBU received a generous donation of HK$3 million from the Zih family in February 2023, designated for the establishment of the Zih Chi Wen Memorial Scholarship. The bequest of the late Mr. Zih Chi Wen will be used to recognise six students annually with outstanding academic and non-academic performances. In recognition of the Zih family’s beneficence, a lecture theatre on the seventh floor of the Academic and Administration Building was named the “Zih Chi Wen Lecture Theatre”. 

Mr. Zih was an alumnus who graduated from the then Hong Kong Baptist College in 1980 with a Diploma in Civil Engineering. The University expressed our heartfelt gratitude for the Zih family’s generosity and hopes that more alumni will extend their support to their alma mater’s strategic development.
