The HKBU Foundation records with deepest sorrow the passing of Ir Dr. Peter K.K. Wong, GBS, JP, FHKEng, the recipient of the degree of Doctor of Social Sciences, honoris causa, from HKBU in 2010, Vice-Chairman of the Board of Governors and Co-Chairman of the Entrepreneur Committee of the HKBU Foundation, on 2 November 2023. 

Leaving behind a legacy of remarkable generosity and unwavering dedication to the advancement of education, Dr. Wong, Chairman of the Kum Shing Group, was a staunch supporter and esteemed member of the HKBU community. His association with HKBU spans over two decades, during which he and his family have made substantial contributions to the University. Since 2001, their generosity through the Kum Shing Group has supported various initiatives, including the establishment of the Hong Kong Baptist University Affiliated School Wong Kam Fai Secondary and Primary School, the Kum Shing Group Scholarship Fund for Mainland Students, HKBU Golf Day, the Albert and Mabel Chan Exchange Scholarship, and the overall institutional advancement of the University. Kum Shing Group is also the Honorary Permanent President of the HKBU Foundation. 

His commitment to HKBU extended far beyond financial contributions. Dr. Wong actively served in numerous vital roles within the HKBU community. He was a much-valued Court member of HKBU from 2005 to 2011, where his wisdom and guidance influenced the University's strategic direction.  

The Foundation conveys its heartfelt condolences to Dr. Wong's family at this time of bereavement. He will always be remembered for his enduring impact on the University, Hong Kong and the country at large.
