SML Group, Honorary President of the HKBU Foundation, held a 40th anniversary gala dinner at Rosewood Hong Kong on 26 April 2024, gathering staff and guests for a wonderful evening of celebration. The event venue was decorated with displays that showcased SML Group's transformation from being a regional label manufacturer to a global leader in RFID solutions, celebrating four decades of remarkable achievements with a commitment to innovate and adapt.

The toasting ceremony was officiated by Dr. Simon Suen, BBS, JP, Founder of the Group, together with family members, who were joined by the Group’s senior management. Professor Alexander Wai, JP, President and Vice-Chancellor of HKBU, was invited to present Technology Innovation Award to the winners on the occasion.

HKBU representatives also sent their heartiest congratulations to the Group at the event. In attendance were Dr. Clement Chen, GBS, JP, Chairman of the Council and the Court; Mrs. Sheila Wai; Professor Chan King Cheung, BBS, Raymond. R. Wong Endowed Professor in Media Ethics, and Mrs. Lily Chan, Director of University Advancement and Secretary-General of the HKBU Foundation.
