GuWei Museum is about to open
The GuWei Museum, co‐founded under the Sapientia Foundation by Mr. Franco Cutrupia and Mrs. Pauline Wei Cutrupia, Honorary Permanent Presidents of the HKBU Foundation, will officially open on 24 September 2024, after over three years of elaborate preparations.
The word “GuWei” is a blend of Mr. Cutrupia’s acquired Chinese surname and Mrs. Cutrupia’s Chinese surname. As the name suggests, the Museum embodies the East-meets-West concept, with the mission to preserve and promote the knowledge of both Chinese and foreign cultures through its collections. It reflects the couple’s long-standing enthusiasm for philanthropic causes related to arts, culture and education.
Located in Wong Chuk Hang on Hong Kong Island, the GuWei Museum is the first private museum in the Southern District. Home to a collection of precious artifacts from various regions of the world, the Museum also hosts a diverse array of cultural and educational activities, creating a unique space in Hong Kong that integrates exhibitions, education, cultural exchanges, and leisure life.
