The year 2024 marks the 15th anniversary of the Hong Kong Baptist University Foundation. To commemorate this important milestone, we have launched a series of exclusive interviews with our members, in the hope that their sharing will contribute to a better understanding of the Foundation’s work.

In the fourth episode of the interview series, Professor Martin Wong, Provost of HKBU, shares how donations garnered by the HKBU Foundation can help to support various teaching and research projects of the University while attracting world-class talents.

Professor Wong says that the Endowed Professorship Scheme introduced in 2006 was established with the funding support of philanthropists. He expresses that the additional funds have not only enabled the University to attract best academics and researchers, bringing in new ideas and professional networks, but also helped retain top talents within the University. The Scheme, he says, as a whole helps to elevate the reputation of the University, empowering it to fulfill its academic mission.
