HKBU confers Honorary University Fellowships upon six distinguished persons

HKBU held its 19th Honorary University Fellowship Conferment Ceremony on 26 September 2024. Honorary University Fellowships were conferred upon six distinguished persons, including members of the HKBU Foundation, in recognition of their significant contributions to society and their staunch support for the University. 

The six recipients are: 

  • Dr. Terence Chan, Honorary Court Member of HKBU and Member of the Entrepreneur Committee of the HKBU Foundation
  • Ms. Winsome Chow, Member of the Governing Board of the Jockey Club Creative Arts Centre, a subsidiary of HKBU and Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Arts Development Council
  • Mr. David Fong Man Hung, BBS, JP, Chairman of the Fong Shu Fook Tong Foundation and the Fong’s Family Foundation, Honorary Trustee of the HKBU Foundation
  • Mr. Lau Pak Shing, Member of the Alumni Committe and Honorary President of the HKBU Foundation
  • Dr. Susie Lum Shun Sui, Chairperson of the Nursing Education Advisory Committee, School of Continuing Education of HKBU
  • Mrs. Virginia Yim, MH, Honorary Permanent President of the HKBU Foundation


At the Ceremony, Professor Alex Wai, JP, President and Vice-Chancellor, acknowledged the six Honorary University Fellowship recipients as renowned leaders in their respective fields. Their exceptional accomplishments and generosity of spirit and willingness to help others are highly commendable.

A number of Foundation members and friends of the University attended the Ceremony, including Dr. Stanley Yim, SBS, JP; Dr. Chloe Suen; Professor Moses Cheng, GBM, GBS, OBE, JP; Dr. Elizabeth Law, BBS, MH; Mr. Jonathan Fong; Mr. Jimmy Liu; Ms. Portia Chow; Ms. Linda So; Ms. Tammy Tam; Ms. Carmen Yim; Professor Harrison Ho; Professor Bernard Wu; Mr. Victor Pang, MH; Professor David Lee, BBS, MH, CStJ, JP; Mr. Andrew Yao, BBS, JP; and Dr. the Hon. Allan Zeman, GBM, GBS, JP. Former Honorary University Fellows also joined to congratulate the recipients. They included Mr. Abraham Chan; The Hon.
