Young Creative Entrepreneur Award celebrates 10th anniversary

The Young Creative Entrepreneur (YCE) Award, presented by the Academy of Visual Arts (AVA) and established in 2014 with the generous support of Mr. Brandon T.C. Liu, JP, Honorary President of the HKBU Foundation, this year proudly marked its 10th anniversary.
To celebrate this noteworthy occasion, AVA held the YCE Award Presentation Ceremony 2024 at the TriAngle venue on 25 October 2024. The event was officiated by Ms. Gilda Liu and Mr. Isaac Liu, the donors, along with Mr. Lee Wing Ki, AVA’s Associate Director (Teaching and Learning). This year, five projects were recognised for their creative, original, sustainable and impactful ideas covering a wide field of art businesses. Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Isaac Liu, member of the Young Entrepreneur Committee of the HKBU Foundation and Director of Kong Ai Ju Foundation Limited, encouraged students to persist in their entrepreneurial pursuits and continue building upon the success of their start-up projects. He also highlighted the significance of generating innovative ideas and nurturing talents to address the societal and market needs posed by the transforming economy.
Since its inception, the YCE Award has honoured 14 business proposals, empowering winners to convert their innovative ideas into feasible business ventures across a variety of art forms, including fashion, metal craft, jewellery, pottery, and incense. Some of these businesses have successfully attracted the attention of renowned brands and established partnerships with them.
