The Intervarsity Creative Writing Competition, generously funded by The Hung Hing Ying and Leung Hau Ling Charitable Foundation and MaMa Charitable Foundation Limited, has been held biennially since 2000, with the aim of fostering a vibrant literary culture on campus and enhancing the creative writing skills of young people. Initially designed for students from local higher education institutions and graduates within three years of graduation, the competition widened its reach with the introduction of the Outstanding School Writers Award in its 4th edition, extending the spirit of literary creation to secondary schools across Hong Kong.
