Scholarships at HKBU: Opening pathways and shaping future
05 June 2026
Fuelled by the generosity of donors, HKBU offers a broad spectrum of scholarships to students. In the academic year 2024-2025, private donations made it possible to award nearly 1,159 scholarships and bursaries, amounting to about HK$19.2 million in total. These awards expand students’ learning opportunities and broaden their horizons, creating an impact that far exceeds expectations and benefits them for life.
Friedrich Chan, the recipient of The Damai Entertainment Scholarship, sincerely thanked Damai Pictures Entertainment Media Limited for their generous support and their visionary commitment to cultivating future leaders.
"Being awarded the Damai Entertainment Scholarship holds immense significance for me. It not only validates my four-year dedication to the performing arts but also provides crucial support, thereby smoothing my transition from student to freelance practitioner. I am also grateful to Damai Entertainment for providing a platform that enables young people to showcase our creativity and talent. Moving forward, I will seize every opportunity to create meaningful performances, bring every script to life, and amplify under-represented stories on stage and screen."
