Coordinated by the Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) Foundation, representatives of Musketeers Education and Culture Charitable Foundation (the Foundation) visited The Government Chinese Medicines Testing Institute (GCMTI) and The Chinese Medicine Hospital of Hong Kong (CMHHK) on 20 October 2026. The visit provided an overview of Hong Kong’s efforts to advance Chinese medicine testing and quality assurance, as well as CMHHK’s clinical services and advanced facilities.

The delegation comprised the Foundation’s three Co-founders: Mr. Stanley Chu, Dr. the Hon. Lawrence Fung, GBM, GBS, and Mr. Leong Ka Chai, SBS, OBE, JP, who were accompanied by their family members and friends. They were warmly received by Professor Bian Zhaoxiang, MH, Associate Vice-President (Clinical Chinese Medicine) of HKBU and Hospital Chief Executive of CMHHK; Mr. Cheung Chun Hoi, Deputy Hospital Chief Executive (Chinese Medicine) of CMHHK; Professor Li Min, Dean of the School of Chinese Medicine of HKBU; and Mrs. Lily Chan, Director of University Advancement and Secretary-General of the HKBU Foundation.

The guests first toured GCMTI to gain an in-depth understanding of the Institute’s work in establishing quality standards, developing innovative Chinese medicine testing technologies and promoting Chinese medicine heritage. The tour continued at CMHHK, where Professor Bian outlined the hospital’s five core missions: providing high-quality clinical services, advancing education and training, conducting cutting-edge research, fostering multidisciplinary collaboration, and creating health value. He also shared how the hospital’s people-oriented design and smart healthcare technologies support its commitment to setting new benchmarks for Chinese medicine services.

Established in 2008, the Foundation derives its name from the spirit of unity embodied by its three Co-Founders, who, akin to The Three Musketeers, joined forces in doing good. The trio have since devoted their altruistic vision to philanthropy, actively promoting educational and cultural causes.
