Beacons of Generosity: Illuminating 70 Years of HKBU ─ The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust (Part 2)
Looking back on the extraordinary 70 years of Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU), the HKBU Foundation (the Foundation) wishes to extend its deepest gratitude to all those partners who have journeyed alongside the University through its challenges and triumphs. Your generosity shines like warm beams of light, constantly illuminating each step made in HKBU’s growth and transformation.
In celebration of the University’s 70th anniversary, the Foundation is proud to present a series of donor stories that chronicle the profound bonds and significant contributions made by HKBU’s esteemed benefactors. This issue once again pays tribute to The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust (the Trust), tracing how its visionary support has helped establish HKBU as a leader in Chinese medicine, propel frontier research, and translate academic advances into tangible benefits for society.
The Trust has long been an important partner of HKBU’s School of Chinese Medicine. In addition to funding the construction of the Jockey Club School of Chinese Medicine Building, it has continued to champion research and community healthcare services for the wider public. In recent years, the Trust has also supported the establishment of two JC STEM Labs at HKBU to foster interdisciplinary research and innovation. Over the years, the Trust and HKBU have joined hands to launch a diverse range of initiatives in healthcare, education, youth development and active ageing, delivering lasting value to society.
