In Memoriam: Mrs. Anna Hui
The HKBU Foundation records with deepest sorrow the passing of Mrs. Anna Hui, donor of HKBU, on 5 July 2015. She was 92 years old.
Mrs. Anna Hui, together with her late husband Dr. Stephen Hui, was a longstanding supporter of HKBU. Since 1981, they established scholarships to support students with financial difficulties. Their commitment to education was inherited by their sons Mr. Richard Hui and Mr. William Hui, Honorary Trustees of the HKBU Foundation, who are very supportive of higher education. Over the years, Mrs. Hui and her family generously donated more than HK$17.5 million in support of various endeavours of the University, including the establishment of the Dr. Stephen Hui Research Centre for Physical Recreation and Wellness Endowment Fund, the Dr. Stephen Hui – Physical Education and Recreation Management Scholarship, the Dr. Stephen Hui Prize in Athletic, the Normobaric Hypoxic Chamber, etc. In recognition of their unswerving support, the University named a multi-purpose sports hall and a research centre in the David C. Lam Building the “Dr. Stephen Hui Sports Hall” and the “Dr. Stephen Hui Research Centre for Physical Recreation and Wellness” respectively.
The Foundation conveys its heartfelt condolences to Mrs. Hui's family at this time of bereavement. She will always be remembered for her zealous support and significant contributions to the University's development.
