Hong Kong Baptist University Founders' Day Reception

The University hosted a Founders' Day Reception on 17 March 2016 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre to celebrate its 60th anniversary. Officiating at the ceremony were Mr. Carlson Tong, SBS, JP, Chairman of the University Grants Committee; Professor Anthony Cheung Bing Leung, GBS, JP, Secretary for Transport and Housing of the HKSAR Government; Mr. Cheng Yan Kee, BBS, JP, Mrs. Pamela Chan, BBS, JP and Mrs. Doreen Chan, Chairman, Deputy Chairman and Treasurer respectively of the Council and the Court; and Professor Roland T. Chin, President and Vice-Chancellor. Around 400 guests attended the reception, including government officials, Consuls-General, Council and Court members, HKBU Foundation members, Honorary Doctors and Honorary University Fellows, alumni, staff, students and friends of the University.

In recognition of the generosity of our valued donors, Mr. Cheng Yan Kee and Professor Roland Chin presented HKBU Foundation Certificates to Honorary Permanent Presidents and Honorary Presidents this year. The Honorary Permanent Presidents were Mr. So Kai Sing and Mrs. Susan So, BBS as well as Toyo Mall Limited.  The Honorary Presidents included Mr. Billy Hung and SHENZHEN TSUMURA MEDICINE CO., LTD. Since its inception in 2009, the HKBU Foundation has recorded impressive achievements in terms of both the donation amount and the number of members, making a significant contribution to the sustainable development of the University.
