In Memoriam: Dr. Stanley Lau

The HKBU Foundation records with deepest sorrow the passing of Dr. Stanley C.H. Lau, SBS, MH, JP, Member of the Entrepreneur Committee and Sponsoring Member of the HKBU Foundation, on 12 June 2016. He was 66 years old.
Dr. Lau was a distinguished industrialist and was highly regarded in the clock and watch sector. He had an impressive record in public service by serving in a number of important positions including Chairman of the Hong Kong Productivity Council, Member of the Labour Advisory Board, and Chairman of the Federation of Hong Kong Industries, making significant contributions to the industrial and commercial development in Hong Kong. Dr. Lau was awarded the Silver Bauhinia Star by the HKSAR Government in 2014.
The University received the full benefit from the wise counsel given by Dr. Lau in his capacity as Member of the Entrepreneur Committee of the HKBU Foundation and Honorary Member of the Court over the years. Moreover, he made generous donations in support of the University's institutional advancement.
The Foundation conveys its heartfelt condolences to the Lau family at this time of bereavement. Dr. Lau will always be remembered for his zealous support for the development of HKBU.
