HKBU receives HK$240,000 from Dr. and Mrs. Lee Shiu

The University recently received a kind donation of HK$240,000 from Dr. and Mrs. Lee Shiu, designated for a research project entitled “Overseas Chinese Artists Series – Chen Shou Soo’s Paintings & Early Hong Kong Art History” conducted by the David C. Lam Institute for East-West Studies with the aim of promoting the study of Hong Kong art history and education.

In recognition of the donors’ generosity, a cheque presentation ceremony officiated by Dr. Lee Shiu, Dr. Jennie Lee and Professor Roland T. Chin, President and Vice-Chancellor, was held on 5 July 2016. After the ceremony, Professor Chin hosted a lunch for the guests at his residence Shiu Pong Hall.

Guests and HKBU representatives attending the ceremony included former students of the late Master Chen Shou Soo; Dr. Albert Chau, Vice-President (Teaching and Learning); Professor Frank Fu, MH, JP, Associate Vice-President and Secretary-General of the HKBU Foundation; Professor Li Si Ming and Dr. Jack Lee, Director and Research Assistant Professor respectively of the David C. Lam Institute for East-West Studies; and Mrs. Lily Chan, Director of University Advancement.
