The University recently received a generous donation pledge of HK$4 million from Ten Pao Group Holdings Limited designated for the establishment of the “Ten Pao Group Holdings Limited Scholarship” to encourage students with excellent achievements in academic studies and social services.

In recognition of the donor’s generosity, a cheque presentation ceremony officiated by Mr. Hung Kwong Yee, Chairman, Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer of Ten Pao Group Holdings Limited, his family members and Professor Roland T. Chin, President and Vice-Chancellor, was held on 28 October 2016.

Guests and HKBU representatives attending the ceremony included Dr. Simon Suen, BBS, JP and Mrs. Mary Suen, Chairman and Director respectively of the SML Group; Mr. Lam Cheung Chuen, Chairman of Sun Tin Lun Holdings Limited; Ms. Jenny Wong, Managing Director of Victory Concept Electronics Ltd.; Mrs. Christy Tung, JP and Mr. Lam Kwok Hing, MH, Chairlady and Executive Vice Chairman respectively of Hong Kong Shine Tak Foundation; Ms. Pienna Ip, President of the Lions Club of Tuen Mun, and representatives of the Club; Mr. William Yang, Chairman of Esscalate Cosmetics (Hong Kong) Limited, and Mrs. Yang; Mr. Terry Hui, Chairman of Singwong Holdings; Professor Rick Wong, Vice-President (Research and Development); Dr. Albert Chau, Vice-President (Teaching and Learning); and Mrs. Lily Chan, Director of University Advancement. After the ceremony, Professor Chin hosted a lunch for the guests at his residence Shiu Pong Hall.
