In celebration of Dr. Simon Suen's birthday, Dr. Suen’s wife, Mrs. Mary Suen, Honorary Permanent President of the HKBU Foundation and Director of the SML Group, his daughter Miss Chloe Suen, Director of the HKBU Foundation and Chairperson of the Simon Suen Foundation, and his family members hosted a dinner on 1 November 2016. Dr. Simon Suen, BBS, JP is currently Member of the Board of Governors and Co-Chairman of the Entrepreneur Committee of the HKBU Foundation, and Chairman of the SML Group.

The birthday banquet was well attended by around 200 distinguished guests. They included Dr. Wilfred Wong, GBS, JP, Chairman of the Board of Governors of the HKBU Foundation, and his wife; Dr. Elizabeth Law, MH; Dr. Kennedy Wong, BBS, JP; Dr. and Mrs. Justin Chiu; Mr. So Kai Sing and Mrs. Susan So, BBS; Mr. and Mrs. Lam Cheung Chuen; Dr. Wong Man Li, BBS; Mr. Wong Ting Chung, BBS, JP; Mr. Tung Ching Sai; Mr. Peter Lau; Dr. Wong Kam Shing; Mr. Chan Man Chau, BBS, members of the HKBU Foundation; and Mrs. Yim Tsui Yuk Shan, Ms. Angeline Yiu and Ms. Veronica Yiu , donors of the University.

Representatives of the University were also present to extend their heartiest congratulations to Dr. Suen. They included Professor Roland T.
