Hong Kong Chiu Chow Chamber of Commerce, Honorary Vice-President of the HKBU Foundation, hosted the 50th Term Inauguration Ceremony cum Gala Dinner for the Honours Recipients in 2016 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre on 8 November 2016. The Ceremony was well attended by around 1,000 guests including The Hon. C.Y. Leung, GBM, GBS, JP, Chief Executive; Ms. Wang Xiaoping, Deputy Director of Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council; Mr. Lin Wu, Deputy Director of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the HKSAR; and Dr. the Hon. Li Ka Shing, GBM, JP, Chairman of CK Hutchison Holdings Limited and Cheung Kong Property Holdings Limited; Dr. Yu Kwok Chun, GBS, JP, Chairman and Managing Director of Yue Hwa Chinese Products Emporium Limited, Honorary Permanent President of the HKBU Foundation; Dr. Robin Chan, GBS, JP, Dr. Ma Kai Cheung, SBS, and Mrs. Chan Yau Man Ying Fidelia, Honorary Presidents of the HKBU Foundation; Mr. William Xie, Director of the HKBU Foundation; and Dr. Wong Shu Yui, Vice-President of the Development Committee of the HKBU Jao Tsung-I Academy of Sinology. Mrs. Lily Chan, Director of University Advancement, attended the ceremony on behalf of the University.
