HKBU receives HK$1 million from Tan Siu Lin Foundation

The University recently received a generous donation of HK$1 million from the Tan Siu Lin Foundation designated for the establishment of the “Tan Siu Lin Foundation Perpetual Fund for Free Chinese Medicine Consultation Day”. The fund will support the School of Chinese Medicine in organising free Chinese medicine consultation days on a regular basis for the underprivileged members of the community by reducing their Chinese medicine expenses. 

In recognition of the Foundation’s generosity, a cheque presentation ceremony officiated by Dr. Tan Siu Lin, Chairman of the Tan Siu Lin Foundation and Founder and Chairman of Luen Thai International Group Limited (LTIG), and Professor Roland T. Chin, President and Vice-Chancellor, was held on 2 December 2016. Guests and HKBU representatives attending the ceremony included Dr. Henry Tan, BBS, JP, Vice-Chairman of the Tan Siu Lin Foundation and Chief Executive Officer of LTIG; Mr. Li Hexie, Secretary General of the Tan Siu Lin Foundation and Senior Former Vice President of LTIG; Mr. Christopher Ho, Director of Chairman’s Office of LTIG; Dr. Albert Chau, Vice-President (Teaching and Learning); Professor Bian Zhaoxiang, Associate Vice-President cum Director of the Clinical Division of the School of Chinese Medicine; Professor Lu Aiping, Dean of Chinese Medicine; Mrs. Lily Chan, Director of University Advancement; and Dr. Alfred Tan, Head of Knowledge and Transfer. After the ceremony, Professor Chin hosted a lunch for the guests at his residence Shiu Pong Hall.
