20th Anniversary Celebration of Dr. Stephen Hui Research Centre for Physical Recreation and Wellness





To commemorate its 20th anniversary, the Dr. Stephen Hui Research Centre for Physical Recreation and Wellness (CPRW) held a celebration ceremony on 28 December 2016.
At the ceremony, Professor Roland T. Chin, President and Vice-Chancellor, expressed his gratitude to the Hui family, particularly the late Mrs. Anna Hui and her sons Mr. Richard Hui and Mr. William Hui, Directors of Sze Cheong Investment Company Limited and Honorary Trustees of the HKBU Foundation, for their generous support throughout the years and their vision in founding the CPRW 20 years ago. He also thanked the scholars and colleagues for their dedication to making the CPRW an important platform for generating high-quality research that advances knowledge and contributes towards public health and well-being.
Professor Frank Fu, MH, JP, Associate Vice-President and Director of the CPRW also expressed his heartfelt thanks to the Hui family for their unfailing support over the years. Since 1996, the CPRW had organised annual conferences and activities in sports science attracting over 2,000 participants from around the world. It also provided opportunities for scholars and colleagues to facilitate academic exchanges as well as training for talents in the sports and recreation industry. He looked forward to promoting research and activities related to physical recreation and wellness for the betterment of the community.
The ceremony attracted over 100 distinguished guests including Mr. and Mrs. William Hui; Mr. Victor Hui, GBS, MBE, JP, Director of Central Development Limited; Mr. and Mrs. John Hui, and other members and friends of the Hui family; family members of Professor Fu as well as supporters and staff of HKBU.
