HKBU welcomes delegation from International Women’s Forum

The delegation exchanged views with HKBU representatives during the tea reception


A delegation comprising eight members from the International Women’s Forum (IWF), led by its member Dr. Trisha Leahy, BBS, paid a visit to the University on 23 February 2017. Dr. Leahy is currently the Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Sports Institute. Other members included Mrs. Pamela Chan, former Deputy Chairman of the Council and the Court of HKBU; Mrs. Belinda Lui, Managing Director of Public Policy, Asia Pacific of Time Warner Inc.; Ms. Doreen Steidle, Regional Head (Asia-Pacific) for Group Government Affairs of The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited; Dr. Nancy Leung, Specialist in Gastroenterology and Hepatology; and Mrs. Bonny Wong.

To showcase the uniqueness and strengths of HKBU, the delegation was invited to visit the Department of Journalism of the School of Communication, and the School of Chinese Medicine. They were warmly received by Ms. Bonnie Chiu, Associate Head of Journalism; Dr. Kevin Yue, Associate Director of the Teaching and Research Division of the School of Chinese Medicine; and Mrs. Lily Chan, Director of University Advancement.

After the visit, Professor Roland T. Chin, President and Vice-Chancellor, and Mrs. Zina Chin hosted a tea reception for the delegation which was joined by Dr. Albert Chau, Vice-President (Teaching and Learning), at his residence Shiu Pong Hall. Professor Chin expressed his sincere wish to collaborate closely with IWF in nurturing talents for the benefit of the community.
