Dr. Jonathan Choi Koon Shum, GBS, JP, Chairman of the Chinese General Chamber of Commerce, Honorary President of the HKBU Foundation, was recently appointed by the Government as Chairman of the Advisory Committee on Agriculture and Fisheries, while Mr. Lee Yuk Fat, Member of the Entrepreneur Committee of the HKBU Foundation; The Hon. Kenneth Lau Ip Keung, MH, JP, Chairman of the Heung Yee Kuk N.T.; Mr. Tsang Chu Kwong and Dr. Yau Wing Kwong, JP, donors of the University, were appointed as Members of the Advisory Committee. These appointments took effect from 1 June 2017 for a term of two years.

Dr. Choi is currently Chairman of the Sunwah Group; Mr. Lee is Board Chairman of Volk Favor Food Limited; Mr. Lau is Vice Chairman of Wing Tung Yick Holdings Limited; Mr. Tsang is Chairman of the Federation of Vegetable Marketing Co-operative Societies, Ltd. and Dr. Yau is Chief Executive Officer of Environmental Association Limited.
