Sun Museum holds "Tones of Festival: Modern Hong Kong Watercolour" exhibitions

In celebration of the 2nd anniversary of the Sun Museum and the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, the Museum holds an exhibition entitled “Tones of Festival: Modern Hong Kong Watercolour”. The exhibition features 55 watercolor paintings by 14 Hong Kong artists who formulate their own style from a great variety of painting techniques. The works of these participating artists depict a vivid revelation of their living experience.

An opening ceremony was held on 22 June 2017. Officiating guests included Mr. Yang Jian, Deputy Minister of Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the HKSAR; Dr. Bunny Chan, GBS, JP, Chairman of Kwun Tong District Council; Dr. Louis Ng, Deputy Director of Leisure and Cultural Services; Mr. Wong Ting Chung, BBS, JP, Chairman & CEO of Nameson Group Limited; Dr. Simon Suen, BBS, JP, and Miss Chloe Suen, Founding Chairman and Chair respectively of the Simon Suen Foundation; and Mr. Yeung Chun Tong, Director of the Sun Museum. Guests and HKBU representatives attending the ceremony included Dr. Tang Wai Hung, Honorary Patron of the Development Committee of the HKBU Jao Tsung-I Academy of Sinology (BUJAS); Professor Johnny Poon, Acting Dean of Arts; Dr. Adam Craig Schwartz, Acting Director of BUJAS and Mrs. Lily Chan, Director of University Advancement and Secretary-General of the HKBU Foundation.

The exhibition aims to provide a new insight into the development of the art of Hong Kong watercolour. The public can enjoy free admission by appointment and the exhibition will be held until 19 August 2017. Please click here for details.
