Scholarship and Bursary Donors’ Tea Reception
To express the University’s gratitude to donors for their generous support for our scholarship and bursary schemes and to provide an opportunity for the beneficiaries to thank the donors in person, the annual Scholarship and Bursary Donors’ Tea Reception was held on 2 May 2018.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Albert Chau, Vice-President (Teaching and Learning), extended his heartfelt appreciation to the donors for their untiring support for the University over the years. He then shared three stories of our students who, with the support of scholarships, had established a start-up company and acquired invaluable exchange experience respectively. He looked forward to the donors’ continued partnership with HKBU in nurturing brilliant leaders of tomorrow.
Organised by the Office of Student Affairs, the Tea Reception was well attended by many HKBU Foundation members. They included Mr. So Chung Ping, MH; Mr. John Hui; Mr. Li Hexie; Mr. Alfred Tang; Mr. Wong Nga Chung; Mr. Tommy Li, BBS, MH, JP; and Mr. Bernard Wu. Ms. Chloe Suen and Mr. Andrew Hung, Co-Chairman and Member respectively of the Young Entrepreneur Committee of the Foundation, also attended the event.
This year, HKBU received generous donations from nearly 280 organisations, professional bodies, firms and individuals. Over 1,900 scholarship and 220 bursary awards totalling around HK$46 million were presented to students from different Faculties and Schools.
