HKBU receives further donation from Ms. Chow Sak Ying for English language education service learning project

To sustain the successful and valuable experiences of the English language education service learning project last year, Ms. Chow Sak Ying, School Manager of Kowloon Sam Yuk Secondary School, further made a generous donation to the University to support its continued implementation of the project this year. HKBU students who have taken English language teaching courses will provide pedagogical support for diverse learners in secondary schools through conducting teaching practice. These teachers-to-be can integrate and apply theories into classroom practice and make contributions to the education sector.

A recognition ceremony was held on 22 February 2019 in appreciation of the donor's contribution. It was officiated by Ms. Chow Sak Ying; Professor Atara Sivan, Head of the Department of Education Studies of the Faculty of Social Sciences; Dr. Cissy Li, Head of Language Centre; and Dr. Choi Tat Heung, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Education Studies who signed the agreement under the witness of Mrs. Lily Chan, Director of University Advancement and Secretary-General of the HKBU Foundation. Mrs. Chan expressed her deep gratitude to Ms. Chow for her staunch support for the University over the years.
