HKBU receives HK$1.1 million donation from Jiangsu Hong Kong Cultural Association to support “Discipline x Healthy Lifestyle” Learning Activities
HKBU recently received a donation of HK$1.1 million from the Jiangsu Hong Kong Cultural Association in support of a project entitled the “Discipline x Healthy Lifestyle: Design & Delivery of Learning Activities for Secondary School Students” developed by the Centre for Holistic Teaching and Learning (CHTL). The project engages HKBU students in applying disciplinary knowledge in promoting a healthy lifestyle to secondary school students.
A Kick-off Ceremony was held on 16 March 2019. It was officiated by The Hon. Kevin Yeung, JP, Secretary for Education; Dr. Samuel Yung, SBS, MH, JP, Council Chairman of the Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority; and Professor Roland T. Chin, President and Vice-Chancellor. Ms. Catherine Chen, President of the Jiangsu Hong Kong Cultural Association, presented a donation cheque to the University at the Ceremony and delivered a closing remarks. The Ceremony was well attended by around 200 guests and HKBU representatives. They included Mr. Bernard Wu and Mr. Henry Tong, MH, JP, Honorary Court Members; Dr. Albert Chau, Vice-President (Teaching and Learning); Professor Bian Zhaoxiang, Associate Vice-President (Chinese Medicine Development); Dr. Gordon Tsui, JP, Member of the Alumni Committee of the HKBU Foundation; and Dr. Eva Wong, Director of CHTL.
