The HKBU Foundation records with deepest sorrow the passing of Lord Au Bak Ling, Founder of the Au Bak Ling Charity Trust, Honorary Director of the HKBU Foundation, on 20 April 2019. He was 92 years old.

Lord Au has made significant contributions to the educational publishing industry and the advancement of education on the Mainland and in Hong Kong. He donated generously to establish scholarship schemes such as the Au Bak Ling Charity Trust Hong Kong Teachers' Training Scholarship Scheme and the Au Bak Ling Charity Trust - Scholarship Scheme, with an aim to help needy students who aspire to become teachers. Many HKBU students are also beneficiaries of these Schemes.

The Foundation conveys its deepest condolences to the Au family at this time of bereavement. Lord Au will always be remembered for his unfailing support for the University.
