Dr. Chan King Wai, SBS, Honorary President of the HKBU Foundation, was conferred as the Belt & Road Academician by the University of Oxford on 15 May 2019, in recognition of his contributions to the development of the “One Belt One Road” initiative since 2014. Dr. Chan is currently Chairman of Hong Kong King Wai Group Company Limited.
