HKBU receives HK$1 million from Ms. Eileen Tsui
The University recently received a generous donation of HK$1 million from Ms. Eileen Tsui, JP, Managing Director of Nankai Transport International (HK) Company Limited, Honorary Court Member of HKBU and Member of the Entrepreneur Committee of the HKBU Foundation, in support of the University’s strategic development.
In recognition of the donor’s generosity, a cheque presentation ceremony officiated by Ms. Eileen Tsui and Professor Roland T. Chin, President and Vice-Chancellor, was held on 11 September 2019. Professor Chin expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Ms. Tsui for her significant contributions towards the University’s development over the years, particularly her untiring efforts in extending the University’s support base by proactively networking with the community leaders from various sectors in Hong Kong.
Guests attending the ceremony included Ir Dr. K.K. Wong, GBS, JP, Vice Chairman of the HKBU Foundation; Mr. Tommy Li, BBS, MH, JP, Chairman of the Pak Shing Tong Group; Mr. Maurice Lee, BBS, JP, Vice Chairman of the Hong Kong Arts Development Council; Mr. Suen Kwok Lam, BBS, MH, JP, Executive Director of Henderson Land Development Company Limited; Mr. Fan Man Hua, Chairman of The Unified Association of Kowloon West Limited; and Ms. Diana Wong, Chairman of Venchi HK Limited. Other HKBU representatives including Dr. Albert Chau, Vice-President (Teaching and Learning); Dr. Andy Lee, Vice-President (Administration) and Secretary; Mr. Yeung Chee Kong, Associate Vice-President (Engagement); and Mrs. Lily Chan, Director of University Advancement and Secretary-General of the HKBU Foundation, also joined the occasion. After the ceremony, Professor Chin hosted a lunch in honour of Ms. Tsui at his residence Shiu Pong Hall.
