Tan Siu Lin Foundation, Dr. Henry Fong and other donors support HKBU to distribute free Chinese medicine influenza prevention remedy
The Tan Siu Lin Foundation recently made a donation to HKBU, supporting the School of Chinese Medicine (SCM) to distribute free Chinese medicine influenza prevention remedy to medical staff.
Since mid-February this year, the SCM has been giving free Chinese Medicine prescriptions for preventing influenza to elders aged 65 or above and chronically ill patients. This initiative has drawn generous support from several members of the HKBU Foundation and donors of the University. In particular, with the additional donation made by the Lions & Hong Kong Baptist University Chinese Medicine Charity Foundation, the number of herbal medicine packs distributed has increased to 10,000. Other donors include Dr. Henry Fong Yun Wah, GBS, MBE, JP, Chairman of the Fong Shu Fook Tong Foundation and the Fong’s Family Foundation; Mr. Timothy Lam, Jr, Governing Director of The Chung Shun Land Investment Company Limited; Dr. Ronald Lu, Chairman of Ronald Lu & Partners; and a senior Civil Engineering alumnus. Their generosity has enabled more people to benefit from this meaningful initiative.
Besides, the SCM received additional 10,000 surgical masks from a dedicated donor, while Mrs. Pauline Cutrupia, Managing Director of C.N.T. Limited, and Master Gao Yun, respectively donated 300 N95 masks and 100 KF94 masks to support the SCM’s medical staff, thereby helping its clinics continue to provide quality Chinese medicine healthcare service to the community. The University expressed its deepest gratitude to all the donors for fighting the novel coronavirus outbreak with HKBU.
